Project Summary :
SafeDrop is a mobile app designed to make the process of finding and donating blood faster, easier, and more accessible. The app connects blood recipients with compatible donors, nearby blood banks, and hospitals, especially during urgent situations. I used a clean white interface with red accents to reflect the app's connection to blood donation while maintaining a calm and trustworthy healthcare experience. Important actions, such as Create Blood Request and SOS, were made highly visible to support quick decision-making during emergencies.
Problem :
Finding blood during an emergency can be stressful and time-consuming. Recipients may struggle to locate compatible donors or know which nearby blood banks have the required blood type available. At the same time, willing donors may not be aware of urgent needs around them.
Solution :
I designed SafefeDrop to create a simple and accessible experience for both donors and recipients. Users can quickly search for blood, create urgent requests, find nearby blood banks, schedule donations, and track the progress of their requests.
Summary :
The app provides a simple digital solution for connecting people who need blood with the resources and people who can help. The design prioritizes speed, clarity, accessibility, and ease of use, particularly in urgent situations.
This project helped me understand the importance of designing for high-pressure situations. I learned that in emergency-focused products, reducing complexity and making primary actions immediately visible can significantly improve the overall user experience.
